Children’s Malnutrition Center, San Juan, Guatemala
One of our newest missional partners is the Children’s Malnutrition Center in San Juan, Guatemala. Many of the people of Guatemala suffer from the effects of poverty, and among those who suffer most are the children. One of the greatest needs caused by poverty is receiving proper and adequate nutrition The Children’s Malnutrition Center provides temporary care to infants and young children who are severely malnourished. Teams have provided love and care for these precious children and have assisted with maintenance and upkeep on the facility.

Summer Mission TriPS
These vary from year to year. FBC youth travel across town and across the country for hands-on style opportunities to offer their gifts of leadership and caring expressed through VBS, backyard Bible clubs, minor construction and lots of noise. They make a huge impact by preparing for the mission and following through with the help of encouraging FBC adults.
Domestic Mission Trips
In years past, First Baptist members have participated in construction trip to Waco, Texas; Catherine, Alabama; and Lake Providence, Louisiana. Our 2017 team will return to Catherine, Alabama. This trip is tentatively scheduled for the spring. You don’t have to be a skilled builder to be a valuable member of the team. For more information, contact Lamar Caldwell.
Foreign Mission Trips
In 2017, First Baptist members traveled to Guatemala, Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua and LaFlorida, Peru. In 2018, groups have traveled to Columbia, Guatemala, and more. If you haven’t been on a mission adventure, you need to keep you schedule open for one of these trips. For more information, contact Howie Hooper.
