ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
Our Young Adults Ministry is dedicated to fostering a space where young adults can explore their faith, connect with peers, and make a positive impact in the community. We offer a variety of activities and programs tailored to meet the needs and interests of young adults in our congregation and beyond.
SECOND STORY
Second Story is our strategically located college and young adult ministry center in Uptown Columbus. It's an attractive space for a healthy community, situated perfectly to engage with members of First Baptist, our Uptown neighbors, and the wider community. At Second Story, we invest wholeheartedly in the spiritual growth of young adults, providing a welcoming environment for fellowship and faith development.
SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITIES
COLLEGE BIBLE STUDY CLASS
The College Bible study class is an extension of Second Story, the FBC college ministry led by Nico Moyer. The class meets most Sundays at Second Story and fifth Sundays in Room 265 in the education building. It is facilitated by Janice and Mike Hudson who have led it for several years and are wonderfully engaged in the ministry to and for our college students. Each week there are scripture studies and discussions of how to apply those scriptures in the students’ daily lives. Come and join this dynamic group as they study and build fellowship.
FAITH FAMILY FELLOWSHIP
Our Bible study class labeled as “Faith Family Fellowship” meets in room 253 (except for the occasional Sunday at My Boulange, 111 12th Street) and has a membership of singles, couples and parents of young families. Facilitated by Tommy and Karen Boyd, and Ryan and Cady Chitwood, this group studies a variety of scripture, topics, and relevant current books. They can hold discussions in which they do not always agree, but they always care for and about each other. If you are looking for a class to grow with, give them a visit. You will be warmly welcomed.
SPECIAL EVENTS AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Throughout the year, we host numerous special events and service opportunities. Whether it's a game night, a retreat in the mountains, or a service project, there’s always something exciting happening. These events are designed to help you connect with others and grow in your faith in a fun and engaging way.
